Learn More About Ben Brenman Park in West End Alexandria

Ben Brenam Park is located at 400 Brenman Park Drive in West End Alexandria on the east end of the former U.S. Army base at Cameron Station. The park is named in the honor of the late Colonel Ben Brenman, a US-Army retiree and an Alexandria Community activist. He helped in the acquisition of the land and assisted in scores of projects relating to the park and in the enhancement of the lives of the citizens in Alexandria. Ben Brenman Park is a 60 acre open space perfect for children and adults. The park features picnic benches which can also be accessed by the disabled and many walking and bicycle trails. A playground is located where kids can enjoy the swings and the slides. There is a large pond located in the park which features an ornamental gazebo surrounded by three (3) fountains. The park features three (3) lighted athletic fields for softball, baseball and soccer. There is a fenced dog park, three (3) volleyball nets and a pavilion with a grill. Ben Brenman Park features a small amphitheater which is used to host special events. Annual community events such as Earth Day Celebration, Cambodian Festival and Art and Wine Festival is held at the park. On Sundays from May to November the south end of the park transforms into the extraordinary West End Farmers Market.
