Advice For Home Buyers Searching For The Right Real Estate Agent

The right real estate agent might not look like the typical Realtor, and is not necessarily the one related to you. The most suitable Realtor for you is easy to get along with,  and appreciates the fact that you have a choice in licensed real estate advisers.

Each home buyer has individual needs. Some buyers are moving in from out of state. Some buyers are investors. Some property seekers are buying a first home. Just as purchasers have different needs, Realtors have different experiences and experiences. Here's my tips for finding the great Realtor for you when you’re buying in 22307:

Nesbitt Realty serves Northern VA.
  1. Check out licensed real estate adviser referrals. — I like Angie’s List because I know that Angie’s List voice verifies each review. You can also see if the agent or brokerage has any awards for client satisfaction.
  2. Talk to multiple Realtors — There is no one-size-fits-all. I know that I'm not the Realtor for every buyer. You sometimes need to see the Other you don't want to buy to feel comfortable with the home you will buy. It's the same with agents.
  3. It's important that you have a good feeling when speaking to your licensed real estate adviser. — Interpersonal skills are as important as professional skills. You want a good listener and a Realtor this isn't eager to the point of desperation.
  4. Ask the real estate pro his/her process for finding duplexes in Alexandria. — When selecting a agent, ask how they search for residences. Some licensed real estate advisers have their own preferred listings that they favor. But you want what’s most suitable for you, not what’s perfect for your Realtor. So make sure the real estate professional is willing to search high and low to find the best pied-a-terre for you. That includes using the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) as well as their own personal network.
  5. The devil is in the details. — The Commonwealth of Virginia requires all licensed agents to sign a representation agreement before showing properties or having material discussions about a specific residence. Be very wary of any agent that is not concerned about getting a representation agreement signed. Some representation agreements describe a rebate paid to the home hunter at closing. (Nesbitt Realty offers rebates.) You'll want to read the fine print to make sure that this rebate isn't pulled away at the last minute. Some representation agreements describe hidden administrative fees of $500 to $1000 that you must pay at closing. (Our does not.)
