Enjoy Summer At Greater Reston Arts Center’s Digital Summer Arts Camp 2020

The Greater Reston Arts Center is offering its first digital summer art camp. The program is geared toward children between the ages of 5 and 10. It includes guidance on how to make art through pre-recorded, instructional videos. Fairfax County School Board Releases Decision About Class of 2020

Superintendent Scott Brabrand has declined any possibilities of summer in-person commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2020. Brabrand said the School Board agreed on his recommended approach after receiving results from high school students and parents on his Survey on Graduation Preferences. They committed that they will celebrate the seniors "in the safest and most personalized manner possible." Continue reading

Schools Are Closed But Kids Will Keep Getting School Meals

Schools in Fairfax County are out due to summer vacations. But the School systems have announced that they will keep providing free breakfast and lunch to any child under 18 through the summer. The four school divisions, Fairfax, Prince William, Manassas, and Manassas Park, are participating in the USDA Summer Food Service program, sponsored by the Virginia Department of Health. The best part is that in most instances, kids don’t have to attend the school or participate in the free/reduced lunch plans to receive free meals. Continue reading
