Fairfax County Celebrates Women’s History Month 2020 By Honoring “Valiant Women of the Vote”

Fairfax County Commission for Women, in concert with their Women's History Month 2020 Celebration, honored three "Valiant Women of the Vote," Jane Barker of Clifton, Cypriana McCray of Reston and Laura McKie formerly of West Springfield. These women were honored at a presentation and reception held in the forum of the Fairfax County Government Building on March 10 immediately preceding the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors meeting. Join Guided Tour Of The Historic Fairfax Courthouse And Historic Records Center

Fairfax Circuit Court Historic Records Center is located in the Courthouse on the first floor in Suite 1600. They have records dating from the formation of Fairfax County in 1742 through the early 1900s. They are open from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. (closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.) Monday through Friday. Every Friday, guided tours of the Historic Fairfax Courthouse and Historic Records Center are offered. These tours are free and open to the public. Continue reading

Be A Part Of Fountainhead Regional Park Fall Colors Kayak Tour

Fountainhead Regional Park Fall Colors Kayak Tour will take place at Fountainhead Regional Park 10875 Hampton Road, Fairfax Station on 28 October 2019. Led by NOVA Parks roving naturalist David Garcia, this kayak tour will take those ages 14 and older on an afternoon adventure along the Occoquan Reservoir. As you paddle along the water with friends and family by your side, Garcia will go into detail about the history of the area, as well as the natural elements of the changing leaves around you.
