The Old Potomac River Generating Station which closed its doors almost eight years ago in Old Town North will be redeveloped in the upcoming year. The plant, which is located at 1300 N Royal St is currently owned by the GenOn however the Potomac Electric Power Company who owns the site is seeking to divide the property into three separate lots with some lots to be kept by the company and others to be sold to developers. Streetlamps In Alexandria To Be Replaced By LED Lights

The streets of the City of Alexandria will now be brighter as streetlamps are now being replaced with LED lights. The project, which will be done by the city's traffic operations team in partnership will Dominion Energy will see 2,500 streetlamps being changed into LED lights. The use of LED lights will reduce energy consumption, save money, burn brighter and reduce maintenance costs for the City. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2020.
