Arlington Forest was built from 1940-1941. Most homes here are made of red brick and white siding. Several have been newly renovated with beautiful interiors and extra upgrades such as hardwood floors, marble and granite countertops, and ceramic tiling throughout the home.
Arlington Forest is located along Arlington Blvd in Arlington VA. Lubber Run and Lubber Run Park run down through the center of this community and the southern end of the community abuts Glencarlyn Park. This community is in very close proximity to the National Foreign Affairs Training Center as well as the Ballston Metro and Ballston Common Mall. This community is very close to Barrett Elementary School and Kenmore Middle School. Wakefield High School serves Arlington Forest.
Swimming and Tennis at the Arlington Forest Club
Arlington Forest Club (AFC) is a self-owned swim and tennis club conveniently located off Carlin Springs Road between George Mason Drive and Arlington Boulevard. Arlington Forest Club is situated on over three and one half acres, conveniently located off Carlin Springs Road between George Mason Drive and Arlington Boulevard. AFC is owned by the 675 families who have purchased membership certificates. The Arlington Forest Club is open to all people regardless of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, handicap or political affiliation.
Each year you are a member you will also be expected to pay annual dues, the amount of which is determined by the board of directors when the annual budget is approved.
Arlington Forest Club offeres four courts for our tennis enthusiasts. AFC has Juniors, Mens and Womens teams that compete the Northern Virginia Tennis League. It does not cost anyting to join these teams.
AFC also offers classes for Juniors and private lessons for players of all ages.
AFC's Swim Team, the Tigers, is a member of the Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL). The NVSL is the largest summer swim league in the United States. More than 15,000 swimmers compete for over 100 teams in 18 divisions, comprised of six teams each. The Tigers are in Division 9 for the 2010 swim season.
