As a home buyer, should you keep the Golden Rule in mind?
When I became a Realtor, I agreed to adhere to a Code of Ethics and one part of that code is the Golden Rule: treat others as you wish to be treated.
Sometimes it's hard to see how the Golden Rule applies to buyers and sellers. After all, don't they want contrary goals? It doesn't mean that you can't expect the best from your agent. It doesn't mean that you need to pick up a townhouse in Gainesville when you want a townhouse in Springfield, Virginia.
But it does mean that:
We never want to argue or yell. If there is no possibility for agreement, it's time to move on—without hurt feelings. We investigate before we buy and whenever possible before we even make an offer.
As usual, here are some of the newest listings on the market.
