Burke has a surprisingly rural feel despite being one of the closest suburbs to our nation's capital.
Burke Lake Park has an ice cream store, mini-train station and a merry-go-round. Take the whole family!
We look forward to the Burke Center Festival. It's a a huge event with arts & crafts, karaoke, emergency preparedness displays, live bands, dance and other entertainment. There are of course food vendors, but also interactive puppet and wildlife shows, amusement rides, pony rides, hypnotist show. There is a basketball toss, Midway-style games, giveaways and drawings, not to mention an after-hours wine garden. Fun for all!
The Burke Conservancy has 5 community pools. If you have a pool membership you can use any of these 5 pools. (The community has two swim teams!)
