When you are buying a home, should you worry about loving the seller?
I would like to be treated ethically with integrity. I try to proactively provide the same for everyone I deal with. But how does that apply to a seller in Alexandria when you're a home buyer scraping together $230,000? It doesn't mean that you have to be a chump. It doesn't mean that a buyer in Fairfax County needs to take every representation on faith. But it does mean that:
We never want to argue or yell. If there is no possibility for agreement, it's time to move on—without hurt feelings. We respect deadlines. We are punctual. We let the seller know when we will and won't inspect the property.
Some may call me old fashioned, but I believe in the Golden Rule. If you're thinking of spending $230,000 and you're looking at property in Fairfax County, here are a few of my suggestions.
