How To Select The Right Realtor For You When Shopping 6-BR Houses Like 2415 Lynn St S In Arlington County

Photo of 2415 Lynn St S Your best choice for real estate representation in Arlington is not necessarily the one agent related to you, and  your ideal agent may actually have less experience. The perfect agent for you knows how to work with the budget you establish, won't panic when facing an unexpected curve, and has the flexibility to work on your schedule. Tastes, budgets and needs will change depending upon who the property hunter is. Some home hunters want storage space. Some home buyers are military. Some home hunters will only be happy with a move-in ready home. Just like home buyers, Realtors have different persistance and levels of patience. Here's how to find the real estate agent for you when your purchasing in 22202: Will Nesbitt
  1. Check out real estate pro referrals. — I like Angie’s List because I know that Angie’s List voice verifies each review. You can also see if the agent or brokerage has any awards for client satisfaction.
  2. Take a minute to talk to a couple of licensed real estate advisers — The agent you choose should be able to clearly understand your needs. You sometimes need to see the house you don't want to buy to feel comfortable with the home you will buy. It's the same with real estate agents.
  3. It's critical that you and your agent share a certain rapport. — You want a Realtor that “gets you”. You want a good listener and a real estate pro this isn't eager to the point of desperation.
  4. Find out how each Realtor identifies properties. — When selecting a agent, ask how they search for homes. Some agents have their own preferred listings that they favor. But you want what’s best for you, not what’s best for your real estate professional. So make sure the licensed real estate adviser is willing to search high and low to find the best home for you. That includes using the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) as well as their own personal network.
  5. Read paperwork carefully. — The Commonwealth of Virginia requires all agents to sign a representation agreement before showing properties or having material discussions about a specific property. Be very wary of any agent that is no concerned about getting a representation agreement signed. Some representation agreements describe a rebate paid to the home hunter at closing. (Nesbitt Realty offers rebates.) You'll want to read the fine print to make sure that this rebate isn't pulled away at the last minute. It doesn't hurt to have a lawyer take a look at your representation agreement, but usually that's not necessary. The document is pretty straight forward.
