The Community Organizations of Lyon Park

Lyon Park is residential neighborhood located in Arlington County, Virginia. Founded in 1919, the Lyon Park community has developed over the years and is now home to 2,500 residential homes and condo units.  One of the highlights of living in the Lyon Park is the sense of community it offers.  The residents of Lyon Park are served by the following three service organizations:
  • The Lyon Park Woman’s Club, established in 1925, supports the Lyon Park Community Center by hosting fundraisers, programs, and by sponsoring several community events to include holding fresh produce sales around the holidays.
  • The Lyon Park Citizens Association is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization whose main purpose is to "promote the welfare and advancement of the Lyon Park community in particular and Arlington County in general."  The Lyon Park Citizens Association meets at the Lyon Park Community House, 414 N. Filmore Street, at 7:30 PM on the second Wednesday of each month, except during July and August.
  • The Lyon Park Community Center owns Lyon Park and is responsible for the upkeep of the grounds and the historic Community House building.  The Lyon Park Community Center is a registered Section 501c(3) charitable organization, and donations to it are generally tax-deductable.  The Community Center is the sponsor for most of the monthly community events conducted at the Park.
Lyon Park is served by Long Branch Elementary School and Thomas Jefferson Middle School, both of which are within walking distance of the Lyon Park neighborhood.
