History of the Air Force Office of Scientific Research

This U.S. Federal Agency was visualized during the WWII era. It was General Henry Arnold who initiated the need for this agency. In 1950 the AFOSR spent all of it's time dedicated to problems with research and development within the Air Force. This agency was long overdue. It was known early on that science, technology and the military were closely related.
