According to Forbes Magazine, 4 out of 10 of the wealthiest counties in the U.S are in the Virginia Suburbs of Washington.
Falls Church City ranks first being a stand alone county having a median household income of $113,313, an excellent school system and six miles away from Washington D.C, while having a population of 12,330.
Falls Church is one of the oldest cities in Virginia having a mixture of urban high rises and suburban style neighborhoods. The City of Falls Church and parts of Fairfax County having a Falls Church postal address make up Falls Church. Transportation, dining, shopping and recreational opportunities are conveniently accessible in the neighborhood. Falls Church has been home to many professionals employed in or around D.C as well.

The third top county is Fairfax County, VA, having a large federal government presence, intelligence agencies such as the Counter-terrorism Center and CIA and home to businesses having strong ties to the government. With over 1.1 million residents, Fairfax County has a median household income of $104,259.
The fourth richest county is in northwest New Jersey, Hunterdon County having a median household income of $102,500.
The fifth richest county is Howard County in Maryland, having a median household income of $101,003.
