Baileys Crossroads at Leesburg Pike
Bailey’s Crossroads is in Fairfax County on Leesburg Pike which was a crossroad of the buffalo and the Indian trail in the colonial American era. Over the years this piece of land is now occupied by the Skyline complex of Condominium. Bailey’s Crossroads derives its name from Hachaliah Bailey of the Barnum & Bailey fame.
Nearby homes were used to garrison large military forces during the times of the civil war. The situation changed enormously when development started to happen post World War II. A large reservoir-Lake Barcroft was built in the 1913.
When the Seven Corners Shopping Center came up in the late 1950s it laid the foundation of a modern America starting in Virginia. Later the skyline square, skyline plaza, skyline house and many more condominiums have evolved in the area.
Bailey’s Crossroads Revitalization Corporation have dedicatedly worked to create residential, traffic and streetscape landscaping to make the community and its adjoining areas a great place to dwell in.
