Brownie Nature Scout Festival
Are you a Brownie Scout ? Here is your chance. Calling all Brownie Scouts to Hidden Oaks Nature Center for the scout nature festival. Hidden Oaks Nature Center is located in the heart of Fairfax County, a few minutes inside the Capital Beltway. The woods surrounding the center feature an easy loop trail 1/3 mile long.
The Park is rich in history. While strolling through the woods, visitors can view a railroad embankment built just before the Civil War. This railway, never completed, is part of the Virginia and National Historic Landmark Manassas Gap Railroad.
Earn one to four Try-Its as you rotate among activities for Animal, Earth and Sky, Eco-Explorer and Watching Wildlife. Craft activities, animal presentations, science demonstration and multiple walks will be scheduled throughout the afternoon. The festival is due on Sunday, May 30th from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The fee is $8 per scout. To register, call 703-941-1065.
